Case Studies
Examples of our recent work helping businesses improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs.

Pub and Restaurant, Munster
A busy rural pub and restaurant was spending heavily on heating and kitchen equipment but had never reviewed its energy use. An audit identified poor tariff structure and inefficient kitchen ventilation as the main issues. Changes were made with minimal capital outlay. Annual saving: €6,200.

Boutique Hotel, Connacht
A 40-bedroom family-run hotel was spending €78,000 per year on energy. An audit identified the ageing oil boiler and uninsulated pipework as the main culprits. A heat pump upgrade was recommended, with 75% covered by SEAI grant support. Projected annual saving: €22,000.

School, Leinster
A rural primary school was facing rising energy costs with no budget for major upgrades. An audit identified heating controls, lighting, and hot water as quick wins. SEAI grant support was secured for insulation works. Annual saving: €7,100, freeing up funds for the school directly.

Small Food Manufacturer, Ulster
A small food production unit had never had an energy audit carried out. Lighting, refrigeration, and compressed air were identified as the biggest cost drivers. Low-cost lighting upgrades were completed within weeks. Annual saving: €9,500 with a payback period of under 14 months.

Community Centre, Midlands
A rural community centre with a BER rating of F was struggling with high heating bills. Mark guided the committee through the SEAI grant process and the building achieved a BER of C following upgrades. Annual energy bill reduced by 40%.

Pub, Leinster
A town-centre pub owner was unconvinced an audit would find anything useful. The assessment identified lighting, refrigeration running patterns, and an oversized boiler as key waste points. Straightforward changes delivered results within the first billing cycle. Annual saving: €4,800.
